Herman Cain Suggests the Taliban Are Running Libya

Herman Cain continues to get dogged by pesky reporters asking about his flubbed answer on Libya to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel earlier this week. At a news conference today in Orlando Cain suggested that the Taliban could be part of the post-Gaddafi government in Libya.

HERMAN CAIN: ?Do I agree with siding with the opposition? Do I agree with saying that Gaddafi should go? Do I agree that they now have a country where you've got Taliban and Al Qaeda that's going to be part of the government??
?Do I agree with not knowing the government was going to ? which part was he asking me about? I was trying to get him to be specific and he wouldn't be specific.?

When reporters scoffed at his answer, one bluntly asked Cain if his ridiculous campaign was already over due to his frequent gaffes on foreign policy (as well as his past personal issues), an indignant Herman Cain replied:

HERMAN CAIN:: What? Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
REPORTER 1 Germans?
REPORTER 2: Forget it, he's rolling.
HERMAN CAIN: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough...
[Long pause.]
HERMAN CAIN:: The tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go!

Saturday Stuff

Clearly, the UC Davis campus police here have a very different definition of what constitutes a threat than I do ? bastards (more here, including calls for the resignation of Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi from the entire UC Davis faculty)?

?and oh yeah, I seem to recall learning about compassion, justice and basic human decency apart from what Former Senator Scumwad believes about suffering in the ?Christian? tradition ? have fun outpolling ?someone else? in the Repug presidential candidates show, Little Ricky; does that count as another form of ?suffering? also??

?and the importance of the issue cited in this video should be self-explanatory ? should be?

?and this song ran around in my head as I watched the despicable events unfold at UC Davis, particularly the line at the end about sending out the boys in blue ? I supposed it also fits for the registered Dems/independents who decided not to vote the Tuesday before last, and no, I?m not going to stop ?beating the drum? over that (sorry, no video).

NYT suggests UC Davis police lied about attack on
peaceful OWS students yesterday

NYT:

A spokesperson for the U.C. Davis police did not respond to a request for comment Saturday. Annette Spicuzza, the U.C. Davis police chief, told The Sacramento Bee that the officer used pepper spray on Friday because the police were surrounded by students. ?There was no way out of that circle,? she told the newspaper. ?They were cutting the officers off from their support. It?s a very volatile situation.?

The videos, however, show officers freely moving about and show students behaving peacefully. The university reported no instances of violence by any protesters.
