Hey, that’s the excuse given by radio talk show host Jaz McKay! (Bet that’s a pseudonym so he can escape public response to his racist rants?) The guy put up some bumper stickers on his radio station web site that were extremely racist. They said, while copying the Obama campaign logo, “Kill Whitey.” I’m thinking there’s no excuse, but Jaz has a whiney excuse. From KGET.com:
KNZR management, said McKay is known for sparking conversation, but did not intend to offend people.
The station and McKay said he did not create those bumper stickers, rather cut and pasted them from another website.
It appears now that copying and pasting is protected, and thus racist radio talk show hosts do not have to take personal responsibility. I suppose he’s just towing the Republican line on that personal responsibility thing. Yeah, to Republicans, and incendiary talk show hosts, the notion of personal responsibility is alien.

Add to myYahoo! This little ditty is a remix of the video that surfaced Monday, in which O'Reilly has a meltdown on "Inside Edition." The original O'Reilly video sparked a bit of a to-do because CBS had YouTube remove it from their site, leaving many blogs with dead links. I myself ended up with an error message to the effect of: "This video is no longer available due to copyright claim by CBS Broadcasting, Inc."
CBS does have a copyright claim because they own King World Productions (now CBS Distribution), which created "Inside Edition" originally. Of course, the more CBS intervened, the more the video spread. As you can see on this YouTube search, the video is now all over the place. So was CBS's copyright enforcement bullshit from the start? Didn't they realize this video was so juicy that determined bloggers would circumvent copyright restrictions? Or was CBS under pressure from O'Reilly or FOX?
Now that the O'Reilly video is out there, keep spreading it. You can also download the remixed song for free. And, for more hilarity, check out Colbert's take on all of this.

Add to myYahoo! One of the four people who have been charged for having run the Emperor's Club -- the prostitution ring that ensnared Eliot Spitzer -- has pleaded guilty to prostitution and money laundering charges. The others are likely to follow, The New York Times reports. What does this mean for Spitzer? It's too early to tell. But we'll likely know soon enough.

This week, Congress is expected to take up a $300 billion farm bill, which President Bush has vowed to veto. The AP reports that the bill “contains something for everyone” — including the following important project tucked within the massive bill:
A tax break for horse owners was included by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.
Politico’s Crypt explains:
The measure would essentially allow race horse owners ? who pay millions for Triple Crown contenders ? to write down their investment over four years. … Senate aides say it will cost between $60 million and $70 million.
McConnell’s measure is a shameless ploy for votes in Kentucky. His spokesman claimed, “it’s the largest agricultural product in Kentucky.” But the tax break would most likely apply only to the very wealthy; after all, the average cost of training and racing one racehorse is $30,000 per year — which does not include purchase price of the horse, anywhere from $12,000 to millions.
The millionaire-only earmark is just McConnell’s latest attempt to have it both ways on pork barrel spending. After securing nearly $195 million in earmarks for FY2008, he voted in favor of a one-year earmark moratorium in March. Yet his “eleventh hour” decision earned him criticism that he was “playing both sides by not lobbying for the measure, which ensured that it failed, while voting for the amendment in order to insulate himself from attacks on the right.”

Seems as if the reaction to the West Virginia results around here is "Yeah, well, whatever." Clinton picked up almost as many elected delegates there as Obama had superdelegates break to his side in the last week.
I really, really don't like Clinton. Maybe I'm just tired of the posturing, which in someone with a Y chromosome could be legitimately characterized as "testosterone-fueled". I almost expected to see her tooling around WV in a pickup truck with a gun rack in the back window. And it wouldn't surprise me at all in Idaho.
I'm hoping Obama keeps sinking his shots.
