CNN/YouTube Republican debate rescheduled.

After calling the conservatives’ bluff and postponing the Republican YouTube debate, CNN and YouTube announced that they will hold the primary debate on Wednesday, Nov. 28. “Like the Democratic CNN/YouTube debate, this live two-hour forum will feature video questions submitted to YouTube that will be broadcast and answered by the candidates on CNN. CNN’s Anderson Cooper will moderate,” CNN said in a statement.

The Daily Rant

May officially go nuts now?

Just too much shit going on all at once.

First is finishing up Ian's therapy group over the next two weeks.

Because it meets on Thursday afternoons, it means we miss the pre-start of school "social" at his school.  Which will throw a wrench in his expected schedule for starting school.

So I need to see if we can schedule taking him to visit the school, and meet his new teachers, on Friday.  Also want to find out if he's been assigned a para and, if so, if we're lucky enough to get the wonderful woman he worked with last year.

He's getting really, really touchy about everything right now -- this typically happens at the start of a new school year, but this year it's even worse.

But, on Friday I also have the pre-mediation meeting with the mediator and our ARC advocate.  I'm still trying to figure out what in hell we're supposed to compromise on.  Oh well, going through the motions, I guess.  I mean, if they'd even fucking acknowledged that Ian will be harmed by putting him in a different school, and had offered anything earlier on how that could be ameliorated (I've only been asking about this since last April!) we might have been able to do something.  Now, it's too late, IMHO.

And of course the mediation doesn't take place until a week after school starts.  Meaning we get to juggle getting him to and from school.

And even at that, since I'm expecting nothing from mediation and anticipate going on to a due process hearing, we're looking at months of a nearly-impossible schedule of getting him to and from school on time.

Must.Not.Stress.Out.  Because if we're too stressed, it stresses out Ian, which makes everything worse.

To top it off, we're getting the lawyers ready for trial, which means hours of craptacular typing of witness sheets, scrawled in the BossMan's largely illegible writing, in odd formats (a Q&A sheet really is a pain in the ass).  I had the first one on my desk this morning -- 25 more pages to go on it.  Yeeesh.

More Turf Wars in Cranston

More turf wars in Cranston. This time it’s a cyberjoust between former Ward 2 Councilperson Cindy Fogarty and current Ward 2 Councilperson Emilio Navarro. I believe Steve Stycos started this argument, I supported his concerns, and it now looks like Cindy Fogarty is willing to push the boulder a little further uphill. [...]

Elliot D. Cohen: Why Haven't the Mainstream
Corporate Media Covered the AT&T/NSA Domestic Spying Program

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION
by Elliot D. Cohen, Ph.D.

The recently passed "Protect America Act of 2007" (S. 1927), which expands presidential powers under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to spy on our overseas phone and e-mail communications without a court warrant, appears to be just the tip of the iceberg of government eavesdropping on American citizens. Yet, mainstream media (MSM) have given scant coverage to the NSA/AT&T domestic spying program, and a landmark case now pending before the 9th circuit federal appeals court, the outcome of which may mark the final blow to Fourth Amendment privacy rights in America.

Rover

I'll let others speculate on the "real" reasons for his leaving, but I agree with Will that it's infuriating that the Democrats often fall for his games even after he announces them long in advance.
