How long until Chairman Lieberman starts holding hearings investigating the Obama administration? Are Democrats really going to wimp out and let this traitor remain in our caucus? Let him stay a committee chair so that we can pay for the staff he uses to try to bring down President Obama? It's time to show Lieberman the door.

"This is a defining moment.... change has come to America." President-elect Barack Obama, November 4, 2008.
A change away from a divisive, oppressive trickle-down government to inclusive leadership that will strive to fulfill Lincoln's promise.... "of the people, by the people and for the people."
And the walls came tumbling down.... the dismantling of that wall started in Iowa.
It's possible that without Iowa, where Obama won the first-in-the-nation caucus last January, the moment might have been missed, and the country would have continued down the "bring it on" path instead of leading the way to "Yes We Can."
The election of Obama shows that, in his own words.... "the true strength of our nation comes not from the might of our arms or the scale of our wealth, but from the enduring power of our ideals: democracy, liberty, opportunity and unyielding hope."
Yesterday "we the people" chose Obama, a uniquely gifted man of vision, intellect, will and judgment, to lead us out of our national nightmare, newborn into a world of possibilities where we'll no longer need to bemoan..... "What happened to my country?"

I hope American readers have some appreciation of just how much this victory means to millions of people who live thousands of miles from your shores.
The world feels like a different place today, a better place, a more compassionate place. And you did that. Thank you. From the bottom of all of our hearts. Thank you.

Add to myYahoo!Al Franken is maintaining his slim lead against Norm Coleman -- 2,154 votes at the time of this post.
There are 8 counties that have not yet completed counting votes, and those counties are split evenly, four for Coleman, four for Franken. The counties that have gone for Franken, however, have more votes outstanding. About 4 out of 5 remaining votes to be counted come from counties that supported Franken.
That doesn't guarantee a Franken victory, but it points in the right direction.
Update (1:20AM): First, the bad news. Franken's lead has now shrunk to 1,177 votes. Part of the narrowing comes from a county that had indicated that it had finished counting all its ballots, but apparently had not -- so it's possible we don't know exactly which votes are out there.
Second, the good news: If the reports are correct of what's left to tabulate, there are only 3 pro-Coleman counties remaining, and they only have about 15% of the votes left to be counted. So assuming that the votes track along the lines of the counties that they come from, Franken can hold onto this lead.
