Brad Burston, who writes for the Israeli daily, Ha'aretz, explores the question of why any Jew would vote for a Republican for President.

Of course, it's an academic question. The Jewish vote for Democrats is about 80%. How Democratic are Jews? If the rest of the country voted like Jews, George McGovern and Walter Mondale would be recalled as landslide winning ex-Presidents. (As for FDR, Clinton, and Gore, they would have carried all 50 states with record margins).

Burston cites Lewis Black, the great comedian and Daily Show commentator: "If you're a Jewish Republican, the level of stupidity is beyond belief. It's like being a gay Republican or a black Republican. Do you need your money protected that badly?" It's worth reading.
