As Princess Sarah steps down as governor of Alaska, are
we waiting for another shoe to drop

Princess Sarah stuns the press corps, which is sent speculating.

There's video from KTTU-TV about the unexpected news -- hurled into the 4th of July weekend news dump -- that the American Right's fairy princess is turning over the governorship to Alaska Lieut. Gov. Sean Parnell on July 26. The news was dropped 12 minutes into a news conference, after which the governor refused to take questions.

The innocent explanation is that the princess wants to be relieved of those nasty governmental responsibilities to be free to ramp up her campaign for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination.

The other explanation, taking note of the mass of brewing scandals surrounding the princess's tenure as governor, she's skipping town before one of those scandals blows up. If that's the case, we should know pretty soon.

Best summation of the princess's emergence on the national scene came from a colleague who noted, "There's something deeply disturbing about the way that woman processes reality."
