Bluegrass Report is all over the big story in Kentucky today -- Republican Gov. Ernie Fletcher cut a plea agreement with prosecutors. He has admitted guilt in a hiring scandal and in turn, well, nothing I guess.
Yet while Fletcher may have evaded legal accountability, the political fallout has been fierce, further fueling a vicious intra-party civil war inside the Kentucky Republican Party and emboldening Fletcher's critics on both sides.
Whichever way you cut it, Fletcher is well on his way to suffering the fate of Alaska Gov. Frank Murkowski -- ignominious defeat.
